The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, Connecticut: In An Instant: Polaroids for The Aldrich
PRESS RELEASE
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum has been profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with significant impact on the Museum’s revenue. For In an Instant: Polaroids for The Aldrich, over two dozen artists created new work to sustain the Museum in its mission of serving emerging and under-recognized artists.
-
We sent thirty-one artists Polaroid cameras and asked them to return eight photographs
-
The artists responded with glorious creativity, making work that is fun, serious, moving, and provocative
-
The works for sale were made within the constraints of the Polaroid medium and the artists’ working spaces while sheltering in place
-
Each work is priced at $175, unframed
-
The works will be for sale starting 12 noon on Monday, July 6; the sale ends at 5 pm on Monday, July 13
-
The works will be mailed USPS Priority Mail in protective packaging at the end of the fundraiser
