New Paintings on Paper: Available for purchase

21 December 2025 - 21 January 2026
  •

Now available, a series of 14 small paintings I made in late 2025. I'm excited to share them with you and the process how they come together.

This body of work utilizes new, as well as familiar technques that I've employed in previous painting series, resulting in a unique vision which, I believe, captures the energy and hope I've been manifesting these past few months.

Last September, I donated two paintings from this series to the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT. They both sold immediately during their fundraising gala.

Please use the "enquire" buttons if you'd like to purchase any of the below, or if you have any questions. Sales are first come, first served. Thanks for looking!

  • The Painting Process

    The Painting Process

Working on many paintings at once, they "come up' together as a family of sorts. Using watercolors is the very first step, activating the paper and creating jumping off points for the next stages of painting. This first stage is similar to how I begin my oil paintings on canvas, however, with those larger paintings, I'm using acrylic washes instead of watercolors.

Next comes a process also borrowed from the creation of my oil paintings - I use a rubbing or transfer technique to apply a layer of acrylic paint. I apply  acrylic onto wax paper then merge the still wet paint with the surface of the watecolor painting and burnish it from behind. Some paintings get many layers with this method.

I create these small works facing my studio window which provides me with expansive views of midtown Manhattan.

The next technique I use is another form of stamping or printing. Utilizing various lengths of cut board, I drag their edges through paint and stamp them to create lines and radial patterns. On some occasions I'll rub a piece of plain wax paper onto the wet paint to flatten out the lines I've created.

When the wax paper is pulled from the painting surface, it can result in goosebumped textures or toothiness in areas. See some of the close up photos in the carousel below for examples.

Every time I "print" with paint,  it's mostly unknown how the results will look. Taking chances is integral to the creation of the paintings.
